Citizenship Acquisition Service
Plan your path to a second citizenship
We coordinate citizenship planning with the appropriate professionals. For citizenship-by-investment programmes requiring authorised agents, applications are submitted through those agents.
Routes
Below are the three primary routes to citizenship.
Citizenship by Descent
Acquired through ancestry, typically if one or both parents are citizens of the country, and in some cases, even through grandparents or further lineage.
Citizenship by Contribution
Granted in certain countries in exchange for a significant financial contribution, such as a government donation, real estate investment, or business development fund.
Citizenship by Naturalization
Obtained after legally residing in a country for a specified number of years, meeting conditions such as language proficiency, cultural integration, or proof of good character.
Why Latin America
A realistic path to a second passport
Unlike Europe or Asia, where the process can be lengthy, costly, and restrictive, many Latin American countries provide relatively quick and accessible routes, sometimes allowing you to become eligible to apply for citizenship in just two to five years. Processing the application and issuing the passport take additional time.
For Americans, a second citizenship is also the necessary first step before any decision about renouncing: renouncing U.S. citizenship.
