The Bahamas: close to home, far from income tax
A short flight from Florida, with no personal income tax and a permanent residence route for investors. We plan the residence, the move and the ownership around it.
Overview
Why families look at the Bahamas
The Bahamas sits just off the coast of Florida, which keeps family, business and healthcare in the US within easy reach. The Government of The Bahamas lists freedom from personal income, capital gains and inheritance taxes among its advantages.
We plan the residence for individuals and families who want a base and international diversification. We assess the right route, coordinate the application with local professionals and tie the move to your departure plan.
Businesses, investments and family assets are organized around the life you intend to live. Banking, asset protection and succession can use structures in other jurisdictions, with the ongoing administration built into the plan.
At a glance
The Bahamas in six lines
| Tax system | No personal income, capital gains or inheritance tax, per the Government of The Bahamas. Revenue comes from other taxes and duties, which we factor into your cost of living. |
|---|---|
| Residency routes | Several residence categories, including economic permanent residence for investors in real estate or qualifying bonds. |
| Citizenship | Permanent residence is a long-term status. It is not citizenship, and we do not plan on the assumption of a passport. |
| Where companies, banks and trusts sit | Wherever they serve the plan. Your home in the Bahamas can work alongside structures in other jurisdictions. |
| Good fit for | Families and retirees who want to stay close to the US, and investors ready to hold a qualifying asset for the long term. |
| Watch out for | A high cost of living, and the fact that US citizens remain US-taxable wherever they live. |
