Kenia María Barrantes Quirós

Kenia María Barrantes Quirós is an obstetric nurse and birth specialist with more than 25 years of experience supporting successful natural home births and assisting families in hospital settings. She holds a Master’s degree in Maternal and Child Health and Obstetrics and is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).

Through The Birthing Nest, she combines clinical preparation with calm, continuous support during pregnancy, birth, postpartum recovery and breastfeeding. She also helps families planning a birth in Latin America coordinate birth registration and the practical steps toward their baby’s birthright citizenship and the parents’ residency, where applicable. Her care respects each family’s choices while keeping maternal and newborn wellbeing at its centre.
